Ranch foreman Brett Larane was in a bad way. On his way back
to the Double M Ranch and the pretty red-headed owner Marta Malone,
straight from a cattle sale in Tucson, he was dry-gulched in the
Arizona desert and left for dead with a hole in his side and a
grazed scalp. Robbed of the money he'd helped the ailing ranch
