Anybody enjoying all these Audie Murphy movies as much as I am? They are on ion channel. I never did watch AM's movies too much before, but he was a pretty darn good actor!

I have a few starting with Guns of Fort Petticoat that opened with the Sand Creek Massacre and another where he portrays John Clum as an Apache agent on San Carlos. (need to watch that again soon.

I reckon I'm the only one here that's getting a late start on old Audie. When his plane crashed into the side of the mountain and he and the other 4 passengers died, his pilot didn't have an instrument rating. To me that's just plain dumb. I remember hearing that pasty Cline and Cowboy Copas's pilot didn't either; nor Buddy Holly's pilot. Or JFK Jr. for that matter. So, yeah, check your pilot's creds, and if he's not rated, tell him, I ain't agoin'.

Lost too soon, although later in life he struggled.. Been a fan of him for a long time and remember vividly the first film I saw him in 'The Kid From Texas'. He played Billy The Kid. Have watched almost all his films and enjoyed watching all of them again. I loved him in 'The Duel At Silver Creek' with Stephan McNally, and the one where he bought that mongrel, mountain bred horse that seemed to save him a few times. Would have loved to have met him and got his autograph...Good lookin' guy too and I think Susan Cabot had a thing for him, but it was not mutual.. He was very good friends with Charles Drake and were always good together in film.... Liked him in 'Hell bent for leather' and 'Unforgiven' with Burt Lancaster, Doug McClure and Audrey Hepburn....'Destry' and 'Night Passage; with James Stewart and Dan Duryea.. For a different role, I like 'The wild and the innocent'. One film I never saw was 'The Red Badge Of Courage'...On my wish list.

Yep, great stuff. I'm still catching them on ION channel. Saw one last night I've never seen, The Texican. That fellow was some good actor. Although actually I think he saved that movie. Did he do any LL movies of his books, do you know?

Was spending a few minutes just scrolling through old posts and saw this. I don't know if you have the Grit TV channel in your area, but it frequently shows Audie Murphy movies. I watched part of one Sunday night. They also show a lot of Randolph Scott and John Wayne movies. I noticed a couple of weekends ago that early in the morning they're playing John Wayne B movies that have been (badly) colorized. Strangely the audio seems rerecorded also. It may have just been cleaned up and kinda screwed up at the same time, but it sounds almost like someone imitating the actors rather than their real voices. And the audio and video are also not quite synced up. It's weird.

Audie was my idol growing up. One that I liked was Joe Butterfly. A comedy and an offbeat movie and role for Audie. It was nice to see him in something different.

My favorite is 'Tumbleweed' where he reluctantly takes that white looking half mule mongrel and learns a valuable lesson and learns to love that horse....
