Lost too soon, although later in life he struggled..
Been a fan of him for a long time and remember vividly the first film I saw him in 'The Kid From Texas'. He played Billy The Kid. Have watched almost all his films and enjoyed watching all of them again. I loved him in 'The Duel At Silver Creek' with Stephan McNally, and the one where he bought that mongrel, mountain bred horse that seemed to save him a few times.
Would have loved to have met him and got his autograph...Good lookin' guy too and I think Susan Cabot had a thing for him, but it was not mutual..
He was very good friends with Charles Drake and were always good together in film....
Liked him in 'Hell bent for leather' and 'Unforgiven' with Burt Lancaster, Doug McClure and Audrey Hepburn....'Destry' and 'Night Passage; with James Stewart and Dan Duryea.. For a different role, I like 'The wild and the innocent'. One film I never saw was 'The Red Badge Of Courage'...On my wish list.
