"Caronavirus"

Just checking out the flu epidemic of 1918.
It was VERY much like our problem we now have. Like now the second round was worse than the first.

2 things: first I don't seem to be able to spell corona. I keep writing car. Sorry, but i know everyone can figure out what I mean.
Second: I meant when the 2nd round begins.

I read an article from the NY Post, I think, probably back in March talking about how the Spanish flu was handled back then. They kept schools open, for one thing, because they felt it was better to have the kids together where the teachers could keep an eye on them, rather than having kids running around in the streets and playing and getting dirty, etc. Also they opened small clinics all over the city. The city ended up having very little trouble from the epidemic compared to other areas. Obviously things have changed a bit in the past 100 years, but it appears NY has screwed up pretty badly this time around.

My son and daughter in-law work in the field...from an a academic viewpoint and have cured a childhood disease using statistics. They work for two different companies attached to two different colleges, one of which is located at, but separate from, a local college. Both are currently working from home during the pandemic...which, of course, is made more difficult with colleges closed. It’s interesting and a bit mind blowing to understand that illnesses can and have been cured using math.
