"Shut-ins"

Well, here we all are. I hope all y’all are behaving yourselves during this pandemic. Not much happening here, but I live with a cat, Storm. Mostly I find myself reading things I normally wouldn’t...like jokes...and watching videos of folks reacting to singing performances. Travel restrictions kind of suck. I have a wife and son who live in California, along with a step-son who runs several martial art schools and a step-daughter who is a singer, dancer, writer, model, actress, director who lives in California. There is an ex-wife, daughter in-law who is a teacher, a granddaughter, and grandson who live in Florida, but three hours away. Our oldest son lives within walking distance of me, and is actually a statistician who works on disease control and cures...recently found a cure for a childhood disease using statistics. Which is weird to me, but I’m old, His current wife is a former Korean model who just happens to be a brilliant statistician and a fantastic cook. They raise them right in Korea...whenever I visit she sends me off with home cooking, which is extremely delicious and much appreciated. Anyway, it’s just me and Storm...well it was. Storm just jumped off the bed and headed for her room down the hall.

Mike, sounds like you're doing mighty fine ... for an old man. Ah, the time you always wanted.
Now me, for example, always wanted to take a metal detector over to Natches Trace state park where I used to cruise timber with park Rangers and check out some of those old houses I used to find way back in the woods. I always figured houses that were built around 1900, give or take, would have money that was dropped accidentally through the boards in the floors or around the drive way area.
That area was where my family lived, at least some of them. Had a ggg aunt that lived over in Lexington, TN. to be 107 yrs old.

Natches Trace is very cool. Back in the day I rode a good portion of it on my motorcycle. Didn’t have a clue where it led, but it sounded cool and me and the bike with a full tank were on our way. It turned out to be a great ride...and don’t think I saw much of anything but deer. Mississippi to Tennessee...pretty sure I was headed west.

Well if you entered from I 40 you ran into a store about 5 miles in(I know, I walked it when I had to hitch from the interstate where I was dropped off). At the store you can bow to the right and come out at Lexington in about 4 or 5 miles ... to get some of the best Bar-b-q you could wish for. I would get off on Fri, get a barbq then with a tall boy beer I was on my way back to Dyersburg. I was young.😁 .... But it sure was good.
P.S. I MUST have walked a thousand. Miles through those woods. Well, at least it felt like it.

I would have entered from the south likely off of I-10 west, making my way towards Memphis, probably exited onto I-40 just west of Memphis.

That cat just knows when she's safe :7. You realise you are only in the house to feed her.

...and after giving her snacks at bedtime...she eats, leaves my bed and goes to her bedroom at the end of the hall. She naps on the pillow on the guest bed and sleeps on the floor under the window, while a cat perch in the window sits empty at night. If I leave the house, and back out of the garage she sits in the window staring. If she wakes me in the morning she waits by the shower until I dry off, and while I get dressed, she goes out to the living room where I will find her laying on the top of the back of the couch...waiting for her breakfast and fresh, cold water. Yes, it has to be cold or she gets snippy about it. smh. Catz!
