"Hey Beau"

Saw a picture of your Dad today and noticed a tattoo on his right forearm. Can you share what it was? I have one of my unit Insignia from Nam on my left shoulder and have been trying to decide what to get on my other shoulder for fifty years, and at this stage of life have given up sorting out all the options, but was curious about your Dad’s choice.

It was a sailing ship. Rather beautifully done too, much better than many I see today. He got it in his teens and it lasted into his late 50s before it started to blur out. Then it became a mess fairly rapidly.

Yes, I recall when I got mine I was given a choice of two inks...one faded and one didn’t. Mine hasn’t faded at all in over 35 years. Can’t recall now if the permanent color only came in black...
