Yeah, I saw that The death toll has risen. As you say, prayers for them.

On behalf of Kiwis, thanks guys. Of the 47 involved 38 were off a cruise ship so most were foreign tourists.

There are still two bodies to be recovered but it is likely that they are in the ocean as opposed to being on the Island.

The toll is rising because people are dying from their injuries. There are reports of people having burns on up to 90% of their bodies and we are having to import skin for the temporary grafting needed to preserve the wounds until the patients are ready for plastic surgery.

There will be a National Minute of Silence at 2.11 p.m. today (exactly a week from the eruption.)

Isn't making a smoking section in a restaurant like making a peeing section in a swimming pool?

Unrelated, but very entertaining to watch was The Kiwi Super Train going 70 miles an hour In-route from Auckland To Wellington.....
Nice little episode on The Travel Channel.
Hour long documentary on the makins', mechanics and
customer comforts, the train crew and the beautiful landscapes.....

The tenors in the second one are a trio of young Samoans Sol3 Mio who have really made a name for themselves in Opera and Easy listening venues.
