As I'm about to leave, an older gentleman sits down across from me, and right away he sits down a paperback book.. Sometimes, for some sociable reason I noticed the book and the sincerity his countenance showed a hurriedness to pick that book up. I ordered another cup of coffee and immediately knew what that book was... It was Louis L'Amour's 'Milo Talon'... I can not describe the feeling I got, so I looked at him with his head down, glaring intently into the pages of that book. I said two words; Louis L'Amour. He looked up smiled, and replied; Yes, and a good one that I've read five times. I just bought this one because I liked the cover illustration. He went on to tell how his late Father introduced him to L'Amour when he was laid up in a military hospital. The first book he gave me was 'Hondo', and so it began...From the first chapter, I was hooked.. In my stay there, he brought me a new book every time he came to visit and to this day, I think of my Father every time I pick up a new story by this wonderful writer...
