"Next trip"

The following is my first outline (desires)for my next trip in 2020. I still need to work out dates because last year I missed a lot because I was there before some summer openings after the last Monday in May.
am just planning my next trip and am thinking of doing the UK as well.
2-3 weeks in UK
Fly to Washington DC
Drive New York
Maine
Chicago
Nashville
Carolinas
Jacksonville
New Orleans
Houston
San Antonio
Santa Fe
Tucson again (missed a lot last time)
Kingman
LA
Home
Now I need to cost and budget airfares without using my Flying Points are around $NZ8500
Any input and suggestions re Historic Places to visit Gettysburgh, Antietam/Sharpseville etc or Louis L'Amour territory (Clinch Mountains Cumberland Gap) will help me is setting the number of nights I need in various locations.

Isn't making a smoking section in a restaurant like making a peeing section in a swimming pool?

I don't know how long you'll be in Tucson. The White Mountains are a 3 1/2 hour drive. You'd be able to visit the Mogollon Rim.

Coming over from Santa Fe so will probably go through Show Low and down the rim to the Tonto Basin. Did that last trip but missed a lot so need to go slower this time round.

Boy, that's quite a trip! Washington D.C.! Lot to see there. My brother is retired military and lives in Virginia close to it but doesn't care for the tourist thing and has never stopped to see anything. Crazy.
I think your itinerary is pretty darn good.
