"Leatherettes"

Beau & Paul, I know that the Collection is separate from this site and now closed.
The Short Story Collections Vols 1-7 are showing up on E-Bay (usually in mint condition) at significantly higher prices than other leatherette books.
1. Were these significantly low print runs due to lowering collection subscriptions? and
2. Have Random House dumped the residual stock of these on the second hand market? e.g Vol ^ is currently listed at $US180 :-(

The English Language is weird. It can be understood through tough thorough thought though.

While most of the other titles went through numerous printings, The Collected Short Stories" titles did not to the best of my knowledge as they were very late in the game, hence the scarcity.

Just MHO- I don't think they are particularly desirable since they were NOT featuring the uniform book layout of the series (instead being the trade hardcovers simply bound in the faux leather), as well the then fulfillment printer/publisher was also unable to match the spine titling that was originally used for most of the run so all those books just don't match. Just cheeped out I would say.

I looked at this and realized that the original typeface / font was never digitized so that was probably the reason. Crappy none the less.
