This may be an impossible ask or task, but here goes.... Years ago a friend showed me a L'Amour paperback, that had a small section on a gentleman named Thomas (Tom) Speers, who was either the Sheriff or Chief of Police, in Kansas City Missouri. I do not recall that book Title, nor any other portions of that book. I only know that Tom Speers was referenced in the story. Is there ANY possibility that some ardent L'Amour reader might recall "that name" in one of the books and possibly what Book & Title it was? I'd like to find/purchase that specific book of L'Amour's. There a bit of a long story behind this search. Speers was a real person and real Sheriff/Police Chief, during the time period in question. I know L'Amour tried to use "real characters in his books, wherever possible. Thanks !! Rick H.

According to our friend Hal, in his awesome book "Louis L'Amour - An Annotated Bibliography and Guide (By Halbert W. Hall)" unfortunately now out of print but used copies are around . . . https://www.louislamour.com/nonfiction/HalHall.htm, Tom Speers appears in two novels, THE PROVING TRAIL and TO TAME A LAND.
