"The Empty Land"

Just finished reading this. I've read it once before, but it's been a few years so I didn't really remember it. I like how he puts Matt and Madge together at the end, rather than Matt with Laurie. Reminds me of Tell and Ange, two people who had had a tough life, but were made for each other.

It's just weird to me that Laurie, and especially Jim Gage, considering he was in the town and not usually on a ranch several miles away, could think that the town could be cleaned up without bloodshed. I guess some folks are a little too civilized. Even ##### Felton realized once Matt saved him that sometimes killing is warranted.

Anyway, good book. Now to read the LT section.
