"Which book is this from?"

At the end of one of the books there is a final paragraph where the character says he has hung up his guns and hopes to not have to use them again but if the occasion should arise that the men would come out of the hills and do the right thing. The book was written in first person but I cannot remember the title and all my books are packed away from when I moved and I have not been able to go through them and find it. Hoping someone will know which book this was.

Thanks, I will have to dig out my copy. I just thought that quote is very appropriate with what is going on in this country at this time.
