It doesn't have anything to do with LL. It's much more likely that it was at that point continuing the publication of new seasons stopped being profitable. Prepping episodes, scanning, packaging and distribution is expensive and the market is continually changing, customers dying off and the formats keep evolving. Beta, VHS, LaserDisk, DVD, Bluray, and now 4K disks have all moved through the marketplace. Each requires some new expenditure of cash.

The real money to be made is now in EXCLUSIVE streaming services. To make their money they need to motivate people to subscribe to their service and thus they are disinterested in sharing content ... possibly even old content. There's a lot of action behind the scenes in media but my guess is that they just weren't seeing demographics that supported prepping any more seasons for a dying DVD market and a lack of quality that would encourage buyers in the higher quality formats. Plus there is all that competition.
