They never met but they did correspond and send autographed books to one another. King had a similar literally relationship with Bruce Springsteen. I've no idea if they ever met but he was clued into the world of the popular culture of the 1980s.

I believe that Dad and SK both admired one another's accomplishments. There are very few who really understand what it takes to have a career like they have had ... except someone else who has done it too.
