You posted this a couple days ago. ... We haven't heard anything from the family. That doesn't bode well.
Holding my breath.

Hi everyone, this is from Bert's daughter-in-law, Susan. I joined this forum several months ago because I enjoy reading your comments and know how much my dear "father-outlaw" has also enjoyed talking with all of you.

GOOD NEWS! Bert's surgery was postponed for a week, due to concerns about his heart, but he had the surgery today and did great.

To the surprise of nobody that knows him, his heart held up exceedingly well and we are very encouraged that he is on the road to a great recovery.
He will get out of the hospital tomorrow and we all plan on making sure he has lots of Westerns to read and watch.

He still follows this forum closely and I know that any well wishes will be welcomed.
He is the best "father-oulaw" any girl could ask for...thank you all for your kind concern and prayers.
Much love from the family,
Susan Murphy

Susan, please give him my regards. I am the one who sent him my book I wrote (Alabama ghosts stoies, etc.). I am so glad to hear he is doing well!

FATHER-OUTLAW! That's rich!!LOLL (Bert, I'll bet you get a kick out of that one!) Glad to hear you're on the mend, lobo.
When you feel up to it, have yourself a seat on the log, grab a Pepsi and tell us a yarn or two. Looking forward to hearing from you. Tennessee

Wow good deal...
I knew Bert has the healing capabilities and heart of a lion...probably a Jaguar
My gut says 'Ol Bert still needed to rope them dogies and ride a few more broncs before pulling leather.
Great hearing some excellent news, and here's to another 20 years or so tacked on for good measure as well as to a stronger, healthier body, mind, and spirit for both Bert and Martha; because once Bert heals up from his knock down drag out donnybrook fisticuffs stint-amid assistance from those few good folks Docs, gals, and hombres down at the hospital...and a few heartfelt prayers to boot - one still has to take care of the little woman behind the scenes holding up the fort

He's alert and in good spirits today. He expects to go home tomorrow or Saturday.
