"Hardcover rarities..."
| |
Patience has really proven a virtue recently. For years now, I recently added copies of two LL hardcovers, COMSTOCK LODE and THE CHEROKEE TRAIL, to my collection. These are both unread, very fine copies, both book and DJ. I have waited YEARS to find them at a reasonable price, and they finally showed up. This has perked up my interest in the books again, and am now working to pick up the Dutton books I'm lacking. I have a lot of collectable books, but I am particularly proud of my LL firsts...including the real leather-bound promo hardcovers of ROWDY RIDES TO GLORY and my favorite, YONDERING. I starting buying them as they were published with THE LONESOME GODS as a 20 year old. Now I have 50 staring me down...where have those years gone? |

I've been collecting the leatherette editions for about sixteen years now. I now have 107 of the 129. I just found 19 at a bookstorei in Spokane while on vacation there. My list is starting to get more difficult as these are the rarer ones. I'm thinking the Collected Short Stories and Rowdy aren't going to show up anythime soon in a used bookstore. |

I'm trying to stay away from eBay and Amazon, hoping to just come across them in a used book store or yard sale. I know this is limiting my finds but that's part of the search. When I get down to 3 or 4 I might change my plan and shop online. |
