I've read all of LL's books, I just don't/won't touch the boxed ones. To me, they are special and just for keeping. As far as I know, there isn't anything new compared to the paperbacks and hardbound books (I hope).

Russ.

Welcome to the campfire BlueSky! As we all usually say to the new members, you'll like it here, full of good folks with lots to share, so pull up a stump and set a spell, coffee's by the fire.

   Ditto on what Derek said.

The books are worth it too me. The only thing is when I received them, all I did was open the box, make sure the right book was there, and box it back up. I don't read mine, just have them. It's worth it to me, my kids or grand kids will get them one of these days, not too soon I pray.

Enjoy the campfire.

Russ.

I never have purchased any books in the collection from here but Amazon.com usually carries most of the leatherette ones on their website for a pretty cheap price.

   Welcome to the campfire, friend!

Regarding the leatherette collection, I would hold off on that. Beau L'Amour (son of LL) recently posted that they might not be able to keep all the leatherette titles in print, meaning you might get stuck with an incomplete collection if they pull the plug on it partway through your subscription.

As far as the titles you mentioned... We recently did one of our "What's your favorite LL novel?" polls here on the website, and both of those were amongst the most frequently mentioned titles. Comstock Lode is on my summer reading list!

Thanks to all of you for the welcome and the info on the Louis L'Amour Collection. I appreciate the input.

I think I'll be getting the collection (at least whatever is available). If something is out of print in the collection, hopefully I can find a copy of it on Amazon or elsewhere.

I finished reading "Comstock Lode" yesterday. What a great book indeed! Started "Hondo" last night and am really enjoying that too.

Thanks again, it's great to be here.
Mike

I received one or two books a month from the collection for several years.
Right after 9/11 I stopped receiving them???
I am a few books short (less than 20) and need to try to finish them out.
I'd recommend getting them if you can

welcome around the LL camp forum Blue Sky Mike
enjoy the sharing and caring atmosphere...I have all of those LL leatherette books plus some, all of the paperbacks, a few hardbacks, and all of the cassette tapes but not all of the CD's yet which will soon be rectified as I love the company of Louis L'Amour on audio
