So the Clinch Mountain twins appear in three stories each. Once as a primary character and twice as a secondary character.

Nolan: Mustang Man as the primary character; Mohave Crossing as a secondary character; Sackett Brand as a secondary character.

Logan: Ride the Dark Trail as the primary character; Galloway as a secondary character; Lonely on the Mountain as a secondary character.

The twins never appear together and you could pretty much swap which twin was in which story without throwing the story off in a big way.

Funny it turned out that way because it looks planned. Yet Beau has said that LL didn't plan ahead too much - he just wrote 'em as he wrote 'em.

Logan Sackett was the narrator in Ride the Dark Trail. He also appeared in Galloway and Lonely on the Mountain. Nolan Sackett was narrator in Mustang Man and also appeared in The Sackett Brand. It does not seem they were together in any Sackett novel. This from The Sackett Companion, p.339.

They were never together in a story.

Somehow I have the idea they were twins. Did I get that from the Sackett Companion or was that in one of the stories? Don't have the Companion handy to check; I bought it years ago but it's at my mother's house.

Both the Companion and their stories mention them as twins. I may be mixing up the two stories, but I think it's Ride the Dark Trail where Logan mentions his twin brother by name and basically says that they never see each other 'cause they figure one of them in one place is more than enough, let alone both.

I hope all will understand what I'm about to say here, meaning that I'm not being critical in the least. Perhaps it's because they're twins, but I can't really tell Nolan and Logan apart.

I never thought about it that way before but it seems to be true. You couldn't put Tell in a Tyrel story or vice versa. But it seems like you could do that with Nolan and Logan.

Think about it. You couldn't have Tell and Tyrel swap roles in Sackett and The Daybreakers and have the story work the same. But it seems like you could have Nolan and Logan swap roles in Mustang Man and Ride the Dark Trail and the story wouldn't be much different.
