I see them in my neighborhood here in Southern California. I live on the northwestern border edge of Orange and L.A. county. Folks have told me that the coyote is just about the most adaptable mammal on earth, able to adapt to desert, forest, mountains, suburbs and even urban cities. Yeah, we got'em here, too. ... I work at a state facility 4 miles outside of town and they periodically drop in to clean out our resident small wild animals in our surrounding woods. And I have seen then in town a time or two on my way home at midnight. Tennessee Dave "Change is inevitable, growth is optional." Author unknown |

Besides being adaptable, they are also adaptable to humans, or should I say can blend in our world without us knowing it. I have read of people finding dens under their decks and houses, sheds, wood piles in their yards, all sorts of stuff. Right under people's noses! LOL!
