"Novel character named Taggart"

I am pretty sure I read a Louis L'amour novel with a character named "Taggart", but I can't remember which novel. Does anyone know if I am correct and if so, in which novel? My wife and I named my son Taggart and I would like to get this book for him.

Thank you

Where did you find the name Taggart originally? .. I suppose the origin of your Taggart will tell why it was chosen.

LL's character Taggart had the Christian name 'Swante'. Now LL has chosen some unusual names for his characters but I think that must be the strangest.

Taggart is a nice name for a child though.

People with this name tend to be natural leaders, self-sufficient, and ambitious. They generally want to make their own decisions in life and are not afraid to take charge or manage a situation. It is important for them to avoid extremes of bossiness or shyness. They tend to be too impulsive.

I had a gr gr gr gr grandpa from Abreu, Spain and Durango, Mexico named Yante Abreu
A Jewish Rabbi university professor-teacher once told me that Yante, Swante, etc...were Jewish names
indicated by the ..."te" at the end

According to imdb, his name in the movie was Kent Taggart. Big change from Swante. I haven't watched it in a while so will have to again just to catch the name difference.
